Collection: Money in politics
Description: New York expenditures data was obtained from the Public Reporting System of the New York State Board of Elections. The contributions bulk database was joined to the reporting committees table. Data is available from 1999 on and has been updated through 2021.
Each record is a single campaign expenditure made to an outside vendor for goods or services. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
